Walgreens Woes...

What is it with me and bad customer service experiences lately? I seem to keep having them after the Wal-Mart incident that was previously posted (the one before I enlightened the world on how gross Robert Pattison is...). Let me just vent, and hopefully give a chuckle to your day at my expense.

I needed to drop off two perscriptions to Walgreens Pharmacy (I will be nice and keep the location on the down low. With one on every corner, good luck guessing! haha...) last night at 5:45 p.m. on my way to music practice at the church. At 8:15, my mother and I arrived at the drive-thru service (which, is the greatest thing ever... or so I thought...), which I have used with success many times before. We see that there are THREE people in line and sit there patiently to wait our turn. We watch the line begin to grow both behind the counter in the store and in cars behind us. Well, 25 MINUTES and a lot of honking the horn later, my mom calls the store. She proceeds to tell the girl who answered the phone that we had been waiting in line for almost half an hour without so much as an acknowledgement of our existence. In fact, the manager had walked behind the counter twice, looked at us, and kept going as though we weren't even there. All while we're looking at him with scores of unhappy stares. On top of all of that, she had helped 12 people that came in after us, including the two people behind us in the drive-thru that got mad and went into the store. She sympathized with us nicely, saying it was "totally unaccpetable", and said she would get a manager. Well, we spoke with the manager that ignored us twice. My mom says something to the affect of "I don't know if it was you... but a manager just came by and totally ignored us. This is absurd!" He ends the call with "I'll be right there." He arrives to the window and says "Now... how can I help you?" as though we were completely inconveniencing him. Sorry, Bucko, if we interrupted your viewing of the Simpsons back in the break room, but this is your job! And while you're at it, get a tie that fits you properly instead of looking like you're the Jolly Green Giant wearing a tie meant for the mayor of Munchkinland... Moving on...

After we told him what we needed, he gives us the typical "Just one moment" schpiel while he checks for our two perscriptions under our last name, and also gathers up a bottle of Zyrtec-D. Five minutes later, he informs us that they're filling our perscription right now. I proceed to tell him that I dropped it off THREE HOURS AGO!!!! Even then, I was told it would be 45 minutes! Two more minutes later, he informs us that we can't sign for the Zyrtec-D from the window, we have to come in and sign on the electronic palet. So after all this garbage, we have to go in like we were trying to avoid doing by using the drive-thru in the first place. I just wanted to get home and get my baby her medicine! We sign for it, complain about the crappy service and the girl's excuse is "The dinger that lets us know you're here is broken." Ok, Sapphire (yes, that's her name... She was actually really nice about it.), that would tell me to look over there every couple of minutes...

After all that, we get home, and Brian's allergies are killing him, so I go to reach for a Zyrtec-D. IT'S NOT IN THE BAG!!! We check the car, and it's not there. We call the pharmacy - "Yes. It's sitting right here. I guess I didn't put it in the bag... HAHAHA!" WHAT THE HECK??? I had to drive back up there and get it. I remained calm and she said "You're being so nice about this." I replied "I'm not going to yell at you. I'm just going to call your corporate office let them know that good customer service is dead at this store."

I think I'm going to take Kroger up on that free bag of groceries with a perscription change to their pharmacy...

Nice! I hate Walgreens...I only go to a local pharmacy at the corner now. The chain pharmacists are nothing but rude and unpersonable lately...
